Be My Hands, the title track from Rod Jackson's new CD, is affecting listeners all over Canada and the US. It is a highly charged, emotional song, which speaks to the suffering in the world...a song which asks listeners to look at the world through others' perspectives. It has a haunting melody and powerful vocals, and a heartfelt chorus.
The CD, released in September of 2005, is comprised of 10 tracks, and ranges from the emotional roller coaster of "Be My Hands", to the Rodeo Country song "Bobby Dead, Jealous Man, Loaded Gun", an upbeat tune with an infectious groove and singalong harmonies. "Two Hearts" is an "honest to goodness" country song, about a man and a woman who meet in a bar, and a pleasant surprise awaits them when he takes her home. The sentimental track on the CD is "I Love", a heartwarming duet between Jackson and his 8 year old daughter Samantha, who shines in her debut.
An interesting production note: the steel guitar, fiddle, and harmonica on the CD were actually recorded in Nashville, with some of the best session musicians in the business. The CD contains musical sounds very rarely heard on the East Coast. It's a real treat to hear some upbeat, real Nashville-Style Country music from the East Coast of Canada!!
